Hawley Bed and Breakfast in the Cultra House

In 1892 our home was built as 2 townhomes and was completed in April 1893. The south home was occupied by the contractor, George Cultra, and family for about 10 years. The north side was rented to a professor at the University of Nebraska. Since then, it has always been a rental. In the 1930's the 2 homes were divided into 4 apartments and were rented until 2004 when we made all 4 apartments into a single family home. We have established the Hawley Bed and Breakfast in the Historic Cultra House.

General Directions

I-80: Exit 27th Street south to Lincoln
Follow 27th Street south to 'S' Street, about 4 miles. Turn west on 'S' Street for 2 blocks to 25th Street, the church is on the corner. Turn north (right), 545 is on the left.
From south east via highway 2:
Follow highway 2 to 27th Street. Turn right (north) on 27th Street and take it to "O" Street, about 4 miles. Continue on 27th Street for 3 more blocks to "R" Street. Turn left (west) on "R" Street. Follow "R" Street for 2 blocks to 25th Street. Turn right (north) on 25th Street and go 2 blocks. 545 is on the left.

From south via highway 77:
Follow highway 77 to highway 2 intersection (the Nebraska State Penitentiary will be on the left). Turn right (east) onto highway 2. Follow highway 2 to 27th Street. Turn left (north) on 27th Street and take it to "O" Street, about 4 miles. Continue on 27th Street for 3 more blocks to "R" Street. Turn left (west) on "R" Street. Follow "R" Street for 2 blocks to 25th Street. Turn right (north) on 25th Street and go 2 blocks. 545 is on the left.

Breakfast is served at a time arranged with you. A hearty homemade continental breakfast is available if you need to leave and want to take breakfast with you. We are flexible, so please make your needs known.

Your full breakfast will start with coffee and tea, juice, fruit, home baked muffins, breads or coffeecake, an egg and meat dish. Coffee and tea and snacks are available anytime.

If you have special diet needs, please let us know when you make your reservation and we will do our best to accommodate you.

The Cultra House suite has a full bath, clawfoot tub with shower. And all the amenities you might need: robes, fluffy cotton towels, hair dryer, quality linens, and warm comforters.

We try to anticipate your needs, but if there is anything you need or have forgotten, please just ask.

  • We accept credit card payment, cash, traveler check, money order and personal check.

  • Reservations require advance payment by credit card, check or money order. A confirmation will be emailed to you once payment has been received.

  • If you cancel less than 14 days before your arrival, your payment will be forfeited unless the room is re-rented. We will issue a gift certificate that you may use later.
